Passport Renewal due to change in appearance

1. Filling up of Online Application Form

  1. Application to be filled online, using the website: - http://passport.gov.in/nri/

  2. Please enter your phone, mobile number and email id in the column for contact details at screen 2. 

  3. As no prior appointment is required to visit the Embassy, you may simply click "Confirm the Appointment" and proceed further to take a printout of the full form and then:

  • Fill in the remaining columns by hand

  • Put signature/thumb impression in the specimen signature box, at the first page and put your signatures/thumb impressions along with date and place at the other pages in the relevant column(s).

  1. In case previous passport was issued in India, please fill the Personal Particulars Form (click here)

NB: Please note that Passport is made on the basis of entries made by an applicant in the online form. Therefore, ensure that all entries in the online, as well as printed application form, are correct.

Fee

  • €85/- + €2/- (36 pages Booklet)

Fee is payable by two separate crossed postal orders/bank drafts in Euros, drawn in favour of Embassy of India, Dublin. For example if someone is applying for renewal of Passport Booklet 36 pages (Ordinary) the applicant will have to buy two separate postal orders/bank drafts, one postal order/bank draft amounting to €85/- and another postal order/bank draft for €2/-

  • €100/- + €2/- (60 pages Booklet)

  • €65/- + €2/- (in case of minor)

Submission of Application and Documents to Embassy

Submit the following documents either at Embassy or send by post to Embassy of India, 6 Leeson Park, Dublin 6, Ireland:

  1. The above printed application form;

  2. Filled up Personal Particulars Form in case previous passport issued in India.

  3. Original latest Indian Passport along with self-attested photocopy of front and last page of the passport;

  4. 3 passport size photographs with white background (2x2 inch)

  5. Self-attested copies of the following documents:

  • Valid Visa copy to confirm status of stay in Ireland

  • GNIB card copy

  1. If seeking change of address in the renewed passport, please bring an address proof such as utility bill, bank statement or driving licence etc, showing your name.

Note: If applying by post, applicants are required to provide a self-addressed registered envelope (Tamper proof envelope) for Embassy to return documents after processing.

Document submission: Monday -Friday between 9:30am and 12.00 noon. (Except holidays)*

Processing Time: 2 weeks from the date of submission in Embassy

3. Collection Procedure for New or Renewed Indian Passports:

Renewed Passports may be collected from the Embassy, on receipt of Embassy’s intimation email. Please bring your receipt and old passport, if not submitted while applying for the renewal of passport.

Documents Collection Time: - Monday to Friday between 4pm and 5pm. (Except holidays)*
